Getting around

for Fez (Launching 2027), FEZ

Taxis

Taxis in Marrakech are generally affordable, with two main types: “petits taxis” (small taxis) and “grands taxis” (large taxis).

Petits Taxis:
These are smaller taxis that rarely have a meter to monitor fares. Expect to pay a fare of  50 MAD during the day, 70-100 MAD at night, agree the fare when you get into the taxi. Drivers do know that the maximum they should charge for a small taxi is 50 MAD.

Grands Taxis:
These are larger taxis that generally operate on a fixed rate for specific routes. The price is usually negotiated before starting the ride. The cost can vary, but for example, a ride from the city centre to the palm grove might cost between 100 and 150 MAD. It’s a crucial to negotiate the price with grand taxi drivers before you start the ride to avoid potential overcharging.

Picking up Passengers:
Taxis in Marrakech are allowed to pick up other passengers on their journey, which can sometimes add a few minutes to your ride.

Airport Transfers:
Taxis are available at Marrakech Airport and fares are regulated, with prices set by the Taxi office at the airport.

For more luxurious transportation your house manager can get a chauffeur for one trip or a whole day. For the ultimate service we can arrange your own personal car and driver to be on call 24/7 for the duration of your stay.

Car Hire

For those who wish to be more independent, we can arrange luxury car hire to drive yourselves, collect and return at the airport.
N.B. You’d need to have both an international driving permit (IDP) and your UK driving licence with you in the car. You cannot buy an IDP outside the UK, so get one before you travel.
